Hotel Estheréa is ideally located on one of the most beautiful and quiet canals in the centre of he city, only 300 metres from the Dam Square and the Royal Palace. Central Station, the main shopping district, museums and theatres are all within walking distance.

Hidden behind an elegant 17th century facade is a stylish and charming four star hotel with 71 recently renovated rooms, all, in addition to other facilities, also featuring wireless internet.

Our excellent facilities include a beautifully decorated lounge, library and hotel bar, all offering a warm and intimate ambiance. Our elevator reaches all five floors. Hotel Estheréa has been a family owned hotel for more than 60 years.

Informació de l'hotel

Hotel Estheréa was founded during the second world war by Maria Flieger-Gruyters, mother of three daughters. She lost her husband Joseph in the war and moved to Amsterdam to earn a living. She rented a house along the canal in which she started a small inn with 12 rooms. During the years after the war she also bought neighbouring houses and expanded her inn.

Today, the Estheréa has 71 rooms spread over 6 houses (4 houses along the canal and 2 houses in the Spuistraat, all connected with each other). Unfortunately, Maria Flieger-Gruyters passed away in 1992 and one of her three daughters, Elly Esselaar-Flieger took over together with her husband Rob and her three children Jan-Willem, Caroline and Esther. Today the third generation is setting forth what Maria started more than 60 years ago.

The historical buildings are dating back to the 17th century. The comfortable rooms are renovated approximately every 5 years. In addition to the listed facilities, they are all equipped with a private bathroom and wireless internet. Our elevator reaches all rooms.

In our elegant lounge with canal view we serve complimentary coffee and tea.
We sell foreign newspapers and there is a small library with books in different languages that you can borrow during your stay. We have colouring books and pencils for our small guests as well as baby beds and a high chair in the breakfast room (all free of charge).

Restauració

Our breakfast buffet is served daily from 7:00 am till 10:00 am. Breakfast at Estherea features freshly baked bread and rolls, muffins, muesli, yoghurt, milk, corn flakes, fresh fruit, fruit salad, a generous selection of cheese and cold cuts, different kinds of jam, honey, fruit juices, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, freshly brewed coffee and tea.
If you prefer to enjoy your breakfast privately, please inform us and we will serve you breakfast in your room, at no extra cost.

In our lobby there is free coffee, tea and hot chocolate 24 hours a day

Our attentive staff at the front desk is always happy to recommend you some excellent restaurants in the neighbourhood for lunch and dinner.

On arrival at the hotel, the reception will request to make a credit card imprint as a guarantee during your stay. If no credit card is available, the hotel will ask for a prepayment of the total stay and an extra deposit of EUR 70 per room. If no additional items are charged to the room number, the EUR 70 deposit will be returned during check out.

The room decor, the service, the breakfast, the coffee and biscuits. The location was good, near the centre but still very quiet.

the room was fantastic. However, we would have preferred a twin bed so we could sleep next to each other rather than 2 single beds pushed together.

It would be nice if there was an exercise room.

Beautiful lobby, clean room, nice view from our tiny room, pleasant helpful staff.

Room too small.(My choice as a trade off since I wanted the canal view and figured only sleeping there.) Clothing space limited. TV reception poor.

I have stayed now twice at Hotel Esterea and will continue to it is a beautifuly run hotel with helpful and accomodating staff absolute worth every penny, sorry cent.

We loved the fabulous service and the aquarium. Loved the option fo rhot tea and coffee 24 hours. The snacks and fruit were enjoyed. I must say the staff was excellent.

The in room massage person was a novice and not very good. I was sad to spend the 100.00 on the poor massage when I could used it for something more worthwhile.

very good location. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Hotel itself was nicely decorated & kept very clean

slight gap between the door & the floor which meant that we noise from the corridor was very loud, esp. in the morning when people were coming to & from thier rooms.
